VCU is looking to defend its Atlantic 10 title, and there’s a DMV feel to the roster.
Freshman, Nyk Lewis, arrived in Richmond via Gonzaga (Washington D.C.). At Gonzaga, Lewis got to play for the legendary Steve Turner (Turner is now at Montverde).
Along with playing for Gonzaga, Lewis played for Team Takeover (EYBL).
Ward started his career at LSU. He spent two years in Baton Rouge and, during the 2023-24 season, appeared in 31 games (10 starts), averaging 9.1 points per game.
VCU opens the season on November 3rd at home against Wagner.
